He was first team all 3A running back both his sophomore and junior years. He was a top 11 pre-season pick in the Hutchinson paper, Wichita paper and Hovensports. Hovensports has him listed as one of the top five backs, all classes, for the 2007 year. Mid Central Activities Association League honors included unanimous running back 2005, 2006 and 2007; unanimous returner 2006 and 2007; and first team defensive back 2006 and 2007. Cameron is also the all time leading rusher for Hoisington High School. The Shrine Bowl game will be played July 26 at Emporia. His Shrine Bowl honor is not only because of his great athletic ability but the great support he had from his team mates those four years as well. Cameron is only as good as the kids around him and he acknowledges that as well. He is the son of Lonnie and Tammy Irvin, grandson of Shirley and the late Vic Higgins.
