Gerald Crotinger writes that his great aunt, Grace Lily Allen, was also a graduate of Entre Nous around 1914-15.  She stayed with someone in the McCracken/Hampton area while she attended.  Does anyone know who that was?  She was a sister to Gerald’s grandfather, James M. Allen.   They lived north of Bison then.  He sent a picture of her on her graduation day.

Verlene Wilson and Lydia Schoenberger were in town on Thursday.  They picked up two McCracken cookbooks.  Verlene said the cover of hers was completely gone.  These new ones have a more durable cover and the print is larger for ease of reading.  Verlene also told me about her trip in November to the Holy Lands.

January 29, is the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood.  Tim Rues sent a bumper sticker that reads, “Return Capital to Lecompton (for Kansas150th   Statehood anniversary)”.  The first part is in big letters so many of my friends think that I am off on another cause.  Beginning January 30 through February 27, there will be a series of talks and dramatic interpretations at Lecompton.  We will publish these programs prior to their presentations.  They are free and are held at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays at Lecompton.
