Walter and Janie Rogers hosted the Rogers family Christmas supper at their home on Saturday evening. All the Rogers families attended.

The funeral for Joyce Wilhelm Rogers was a joyous celebration of life. It was officiated by Reverend Janice Farrell. The music was provided by Paula Greenway on the piano and the McCracken United Methodist English Hand Bell Choir led by Arlene Gilbert. Many of the Rogers family are members of the Hand Bell Choir. They played The Old Rugged Cross, the Lord's Prayer and a favorite of the Rogers grandchildren “The Chipmunk Song”. Deb Rogers Smith told how Joyce always made her home a happy place to be. Relatives and friends alike can attest to that. Joyce loved donuts so a reception was held at the City Building with a myriad of different types of donuts. We also enjoyed seeing all the wonderful pictures of Joyce and Chet and their children, Deb, Roxie and Les and families. They were the perfect couple - handsome and beautiful in and out.

The parishioners attended the mass at St. Mary's on Saturday evening. It is always comforting to be together. We are grateful that the Diocese allows us four masses a year and that we have priests who understand how important these masses are to us all. Thank you Father Kumi. The church was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Those helping with the mass were DeAnna Bergquist, Marge Moran, Twila Higgins, Phyllis Conrad, Paul Pavlu, Don Bergquist , Bet and Jeanette McCormick, Michele Moran and server Jaden Pavlu. The little children loved the Christmas crib.

Addie , Danny and Marilyn Mills enjoyed a pre-Christmas dinner at Golden Corral on Sunday.

Little Charlotte Rogers Hirsch, daughter of Bryan and Kelsee (Rogers) Hirsch, attended the funeral of her great-grandmother, Joyce Rogers on Saturday.  She was the youngest one in attendance as she is one month old.

We wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and many blessings in the coming New Year.
