Rashell McCarty was the guest of honor for her 30th birthday on Sunday at the home of her parents, Marty and Tina Mills. Others in attendance were Addie Mills, Warren Richardson and sons, Rusty and Larry.

Santa day was a huge success at the City Building The children loved the games and all enjoyed the bingo and the prizes. First class job everyone.

Carolyn Thompson visited Marge Elias and Viola Depperschmidt at Rush County Memorial Hospital LTC on Monday. She also saw Wilma Washaliski at Locust Grove.

Anthony Taylor, OD, FAAO, attended the 2016 American Academy of Optometry meeting in Anaheim, Calif. In November.

Richard R. Jones, 55, died December 6, 2016. He was born in Hill City, Kansas to James R. and Ann Brown Jones, he attended Lyons High School. He is preceded in death by his father; James R. Jones, son; Skyler Jones. He is survived by his mother Ann (John) Chandley, daughter; Sierra (John) Hughes, estranged wife; Rose Jones, sister; Michelle (Mark) Miller, grandchildren Jessica Jones, Tailynn Jones and Bradyn Hughes; and two step sisters.

History: December 1920: The McCracken football season if over after eleven weeks of hard work. Coach Lyle Farwell gives much credit to turning out the hard hitting team.
