Jerry, Jodi, Jenna, Chuck, Zach, Tammy, John, Cameron, Courtney, Kayla, Lindsey, Nicole, Mylo and Ann Oyler, Kyle Oyler, Les & Rose Diehl, Cathy & John Casey, Phil & Connie McNaul, attended the 6A State football game in Topeka Saturday afternoon.
 Hutchinson was defeated 19-14 by Shawnee Mission West. It was the coldest football game I ever attended. We sat on the west side in the shade, it was 47*, windy and then we lost. What a bummer!!
 
Michele & Marge Moran just got home from a Canada & Colonial America cruise.  Because of hurricane Sandy, they did not get to go to Boston, Maine, Rhode Island and New York.  Instead they went to Saganaw Quebec, Cornerbrook New Foundland, Halifax Nova Scotia, and Saint John New Brunswick.  They saw a beautiful cathedral and toured a copper factory in Quebec City Quebec.  At Sydney Nova Scotia they toured the Alexander Graham Bell museum.  They did get to see a beautiful plantation in Charleston South Carolina and toured the Venice of America at Fort Lauderdale Florida.  They are glad to be home and will not fly thru Houston again.
 
Clarence Herrman, Denver, celebrated his 90th birthday last week. Walter & Janey Rogers were in attendance. Clarence worked for Walter’s dad, O.S. Rogers for about 5 years and he and Walter have always kept in touch.
 
Dominic & Kayla Weskamp & Jackson and Nicole Tacha attended the K.C. Chiefs – Denver football game on Sunday.
 
 Thanksgiving Day guests of Arlyn and Jan North were Eunice North, Heath North family, and Ted North family.
 
Thanksgiving guests of Arkie and Diana McNair were Deb & Craig Rixon, Charlotte Ochs, Tony Harp, Phil Ochs, Johnny Mac and Richard Showalter, Betty Fear, and Galen Watkins. Galen was the ‘chef’ and he is a good one.
 
Guests of Aaron and Leslie McGaughey, Lillian & Jackson in LaCrosse for Thanksgiving were Rob, Helena & Austin McGaughey, Richard & Johnny Mac Showalter, Ashley McGaughey, Richard Gonzales, Leslie’s niece Regan and Amanda Showalter and family.
 
Thanksgiving Day guests of Pat Derr were Debi Rogers, Scott, Emily & Owen Keener, Valerie and Kevin Anderson and family, Kerri & Layne Morgan, Allen & Bailey Morgan and boys, Katlyn and Angela Morgan, Ron and Andy Johnson, Michael, Jerridy Morgan and boys, Derek Derr and Bailey’s mother Pam.

Our sympathy to the family of LaVern Stieben who died yesterday. He was a brother-in-law of Jerry and Karen Koerner Casey.
 
Christmas lights on Main Street will be up this Tuesday thanks to Lane Scott.
 
Thanksgiving was celebrated Friday with Tim, Maddie and Lily Rues
hosting the dinner. Those attending were Tony, Tomi, Emma, Kate and Will Rues,
Cathy, Ron, Alex, Catherine, and John Casey, Arline Rues, Les and Rose Diehl and Mary Dunn. Leigh and Alicia Rues Barrett joined them briefly since Alicia had knee surgery on Monday. Everyone had a great time. The cousins spent the night together Emma, Kate, Maddie and Lily.  They went to the Topeka Roadrunners hockey game on Friday night.  Will also went along for the game.
 
Sheryl Burns and Kody have moved to LaCrosse.
 
The Sunday before Thanksgiving Ruth Axman celebrated her birthday with guests Amy Frieb, nephew Eli Gamber whose birthdays they also celebrated. On the 20th Melanie Zeller took her mother Ruth out for lunch to Applebee’s and was accompanied by Julia Zeller.
 
Guests Thanksgiving Friday of John and Melanie Zeller were Bill, Dan and Will Zeller, Ruth Axman, Julia Zeller, Sarah Urban & Kyle Emerson, Lance, Rachel, Hayden and Tessa Legleiter.
 
Thanksgiving guests of Bill and Paula Greenway were Ron and Ruth Crawshaw, Bernadine Gray, LaCrosse and Jim Gray, Topeka.
 
Jeannie and Casey Grinne, Connor and Claire, Greg and Sheila Hinman were Wednesday overnight guests of Gladys and Wendell and enjoyed a Thanksgiving breakfast.
 
Pris Jacobs enjoyed Thanksgiving in Wichita with Neal, Amy and Tessa Jacobs. Also attending were Jaden, Jenna and Hadley Jacobs. They didn’t get their Thanksgiving pumpkin pie though……
 
Diz Washaliski donated a Kansas and US flag for the City Park. They flew over the Capitol. Thanks a bunch Diz.
 
Bill and Barbara Baus spent Thanksgiving at the home of Mark and Ann Baus and Olivia in Alexander. Joining them were Leah Baus, Dan and Elaine Johnson of Bazine.

Shirley and Carolyn had a nice letter from Carol Busse from Lougheed, Alberta, Canada. They have been having blizzardy weather. She wanted us to know that in all their travel they found Kansas people the friendliest of all. She asked us to give a big "Hi" to Arlene Gilbert.
Al and Judy Hugh and T. J. Milam hosted Thanksgiving at their home in Hays. Guests were Tim and Ann Crowley, Alex and Sam, L.D. and Jan Lappin and Marsha Swanson, Hays; Deb Luft and Joyce Luft, Wichita; Mike, Susan and Shannon Keith, Ellsworth, Carolyn Thompson and Ben Thompson, McCracken.
A big thank you goes out once again for all those who donated to the 2012 Rush County Fund Drive. This drive is only once a year, but it supports and helps organizations all year here in Rush County. McCracken residents and friends of the McCracken community once again showed their generous spirit by giving. Thank you.
Emma Rues celebrated her 13th birthday in Topeka watching "Legally Blonde" and staying in a hotel. Her cousin, Anne Wyre, played Harvard Law Student, Enid. Topeka High put on the Broadway production Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Emma and her family had a great trip.
We had a nice letter from Sally Buster. They spent Thanksgiving in Dallas. Texas Tech played Baylor on Saturday at Cowboy Stadium. Hailey's TTU Goin' Band performed. Greg and Bev Buster drove down for the game. Miles had a week off for Thanksgiving. Mariah made the All-State Symphonic band - congratulations!

Addie Mills was a Thanksgiving dinner guest of Marty and Tina Mills.
John and Ellen Moran and Josh hosted Thanksgiving at Great Bend. Those attending were Marge, Michele, Jason Moran, Clark, Nichole and Madison Kirk. Shirley Endsley, Larry and Rose Merchant and family also attended. Ellen, Marge and Michele went to Nicole's so that Ellen and Michele could shop on Black Friday.
Mike Karlin was a Friday through Sunday visitor of Addie Mills. Addie took him to Hays to meet his parents, Norbert and Teresa Karlin, and spent the afternoon with Danny and Marilyn Mills at Gorham. Enroute home she visited with Walter Rogers and Janie at Hays Med.
Our sympathy to the family of James K. Wierman who died Sunday. Services will be held on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in McCracken.
