Kansas History Notes
In 1901 The Kansas Federation of Clubs originated a plan for distributing good literature.  The Legislature of 1901 granted an appropriation of $2,000 a year for two years to aid in the work of the Traveling Libraries.  Fifty books were loaned to communities, neighborhood and organizations.  (This is much like our Rotating Books today from CKLS).  After they were read, they were returned to be sent out again.
