While Roy and Phyllis were helping Chris prepare the wedding dinner for 300 guests and a young man walked into the kitchen area and to their surprise it was Wade Grumbein from LaCrosse. In the high school doubleheader at the Hays Ball Park Wednesday between Hays and McCracken, the local Indians won the first contest 6-2 but McCracken came back with some slick pitching in the nightcap and posted a 4-0 win. Doing the hurling for McCracken in that 4-0 whitewashing was Rich Higgins. He allowed only one hit and struck out 4. In the first game John Brack led the hitting for McCracken and in the 2nd game Tom Tomlinson and Lance Morgan each had one hit.
