1969 Class History
We entered MHS as apprehensive freshmen in 1965. The role was as follows: Jack Beebe, Gloria Baus, Jim Brack, Tim Brown, Patricia Casey, David Davenport, Valandia Derr; Patricia Foos, David Halbleib, Rich Higgins, Wayne Johnston, Robert Mason, Rita North, Sherry Osborn, Tim Petz, Debra Schuckman, Richard Showalter, Kirby Wendler, Donnie Schuckman, Bill Wetel and Doug Whitis. We were given the usual taunting from the upper classmen and feared our up-comining initiation. Our sophomore year began with a change of students. Jack Beebe, Rita North and Sherry Osborn left but we welcomed Kathy Huddleston, Lance Morgan, Richard Peters, Lana Scheuerman, Tom Tomlinson and Duane Williams. The highlight of our sophomore year was a class party at Hays. As juniors, we lost Richard Peters butClaudine Owings joined our ranks. We ordered our class rings in September and received them in December. In April we gave our play The Night of January Sixteenth and in May the seniors were our guests at the annual Junior-Senior banquet. In 1969 we finally reached the highest rank in high school, that of seniors. Claudine Owings, Tim Petz and Richard Showalter left us, leaving a class numbering a strong twenty-one. Seniors pictures were taken, Junior-Senior banquet will be soon, announcements, caps and gowns have recently arrived, making us extremely anxious for our graduation. We leave MHS laughing about the bad times and remembering vividly the good times.
Graduates: Kirby Wendler, Duane Williams, Wayne Johnston, Rich Higgins, Patricia Foos, Jim Brack, Doug Whitis, Tim Tomlinson, Lance Morgan, Debra Schuckman, David Davenport, Lana Scheuerman, David Halbleib, Kathy Huddleston, Robert Mason, Valandia Derr, Tim Petz, Patricia Casey, Gloria Baus, Tim Brown, Donnie Schuckman, Bill Wetzel, and class sponsor Diz Washaliski.
