Tragedy at Hargrave from the Hampton Book by Wilbur Albers One of Dad's brother's, Lester Herbert Albers, son of Albert and Louie Albers died April1,1899,at age 11 years. He was on his way home from Hillsdale school and was overcome by some kind of heart trouble or breathing problems. Dad had another brother, Otto Garhard Albers, son of Albert and Louise Albers, born November 28,1894 and died January 19, 1912. It was a hard winter and the snow was plowed out along the railroad track. Three of the boys were trying to jump the train over by Hargrave. They would run along on the snowdrifts above the train and jump down on the flat car below. Two of them made it, but the snow gave way below Otto sending him under the wheels. It cut off his leg above the hip. Both boys are buried in the Hall cemetery south of Hargrave.
