Colby is 16 and is a junior at Headland High School. Colby is a cowboy at heart. He rides horses and ropes steers he also took up bull riding this spring which scared me to death but he really likes it. He loves to hunt and cant wait for deer season and turkey season to begin. Our church has Upward Basketball program and Colby is a referee on Saturdays from January to March.
Kaitlyn is 13 and an 8th grader at Headland Middle School. She is a cheerleader and I thought a girlie girl but she also likes to ride bulls like her brother. Her bulls are smaller and not quit as mean as Colbys. Kaitlyn also like to show cattle. Last year she showed a steer and a heifer and did pretty well. This year she is showing heifers only. Kaitlyn also helps with Upward Basketball and is a cheer sponsor.
Tom and I have lived in Headland Alabama for 20 years and have been married 25 years. He works for BASF full time and is also a preacher. He has been the Pastor at Balkum Baptist Church for 7 years. Nettie works at Headland National Bank and she has been there for 16 years. I was very sorry to hear about Lonnie. Tell Kayla hello from me.
Do you Rush County Cookie League players remember July 20, 1969 when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon? There was a Cookie League tournament held in Bison in which McCracken took first by defeating Otis by one run. Don DeWald was pitching for Otis, he walked Jerry Higgins with the bases loaded. Schafer put Jerry in to pinch hit and he told him NOT to swing.
