Work is being done in the museum to set up the Paper Moon display and the items connected to the movie.

Mike, Susan and Shannon Keith and Carolyn Thompson spent a week in Colorado visiting Judy Dennis for her birthday. Some of the fun things we did were a dinner at the Seven Rivers Restaurant at the Southern Ute Indian Casino in Ignacio, lunch and Irish music at the Irish Embassy Pub in Durango. There were 13 members of the Irish music group and one singer. Mike and Shannon went on a nine mile hike.

Shannon Keith had a fun summer in McCracken. She took online classes through Fort Hays, worked at the Midland Marketing Elevator at Brownell during harvest and at the McCracken Pool . She left for K-State to begin her Sophomore year. She will once again be part of the marching band.

"Mary and Martin Higgins were home (in McCracken) for the rodeo/alumni week end in July. There was a "cousins" party at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Pat Murray in McCracken. Martin's brothers, Jan (Bayard, NE), Tracy (San Diego), his sister Suellen and husband Larry (Centennial, Co.) were there. Nephew Erik Higgins and son Parker of San Diego and nephew Shad Higgins and Shad's son Robert also attended. A fun time was had by all. From McCracken Mary and Martin traveled to Denver to visit a few days with sister Sue and Larry. Tracy was there too as he was on his way back to San Diego via the Denver airport. From Denver they went on to Wyoming and spent a few days in and around Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons. They had a wonderful time driving around the area and seeing the sights and the herds of wild, free buffalo. They took a float trip down the Snake River one day and were lucky enough to see some American Eagles, an elk and some deer. They spent 4 days touring all the different roads and taking in all the sights of Yellowstone National Park. What a wondrous place. From Wyoming the itinerary took them to Montana. They spent several days with Navy friends Patsy and Loren Holmgren in Helena. Their friends took them on a 2 day car trip to Glacier National Park. The scenery there is incredible. They spent one night in Kalispell then continued the trip into Canada where they spent another night at Waterton Park, Alberta, Canada . They visited several different lodges and decided that they would take this trip again some day and stay at some of the lodges. They had breakfast at the Prince of Wales Hotel near Waterton Park. This is one of the beautiful lodges where they want to stay another time. While there they were witness to a beautiful Native American/Canadian wedding ceremony, with the drums, chanting and dancing. Beautiful. On the way home they stopped at the Little Bighorn battlefield and took in the sights. They had lunch there at the little café at the trading post and feasted on Indian Fry Bread and honey. What a delicious treat! All things considered this was one of the best vacations the Higgins' have ever had. Mary says "even better than Ireland!"

Drew and Melissa Thompson and family vacationed in Florida recently; they were there the same time as Tom, Annette Chestnut, Tyler, Colby and Kaitlyn, Alabama, and ate breakfast with them.
