Anna Mae Bergquist, talented, artistic, dancer, horsewoman, all around athlete and cheerleader, has been taken from our presence. Her loss is a deep wound because each of us felt she belonged to them alone. She had flashing brown eyes, long brown hair and a dazzling smile. She lived her 14 years to the fullest with the guidance of her loving parents and sister, Bryan and Treva Bergquist and Audra. So many of her family and friends were dressed in yellow for her services as that is the color she loved. She recently painted her room bright yellow. The wake service and funeral mass were packed with those who wanted to say goodbye. Her riderless horse followed the hearse to Christ the King Cemetery in WaKeeney. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Don and DeAnna Bergqist, maternal grandmother, Verlene Wilson; great-grandmother, Lydia Schoenberger; uncle Clayton Wilson and his wife Kizmin; aunt, Dana Strickland and husband Patrick Mintner; three cousins, Gunner Wilson, Brycee Strickland and Blayke Mintner. Pre-deceasing her were grandfathers, Jack Wilson and Vic Schoenberger, great-grandparents, Rudy and Viola Bergquist, Clifford and Madie Newland and Paul and Ursula Tot Wilson. We will remember you Anna, please remember us.
If you havent brought your military items to the Jail/Museum, please do so for the weekend. So far we have medals, a flag, uniforms and pictures. The scrapbook was a gift from Mrs. D. D. Hunt who gave it to Edith as a Christmas gift knowing her interest in preparing city scrapbooks.
