On Thursday, Marge Elias, Dennis and Jeannie Elias met Sheri Rupp from Ellsworth, Kansas, and Maggie Elias from Houston, Texas at Applebees in Hays for lunch. Marge had a nice visit with her granddaughter.
Congratulations to Mark and Sharon Miller who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5. If you would like to send them a card, their address is 155 Cedar Circle Court, Alma, KS 66401. Mark was a teacher at McCracken High School when the school closed.
Fran Work, Gladstone, IL, has renewed her membership in the Jail/Museum and given a donation in memory of Nancy Jane Ryan Neal Hays (1836-1932). She is Fran's great-great-grandmother who lived and is buried in McCracken City Cemetery. She was the mother of Thomas Neal.
The renewal dues letters for the Jail/Museum are in the mail. Dues are $5.00. If you wish to join and didn't get a letter or want to make a donation in memory of a loved one, send it to P. O. Box 342, McCracken, KS 67556. We operate only on moneys received from membership and donations.
Sheila Brown and her mother, Cecelia Gilbert was in Oklahoma from Thursday to Saturday visiting Central University of Oklahoma in Edmond. She was accepted into graduate school there beginning this Fall.
All along the Liebenthal /McCracken road they have marked where the transmission line poles will be located.
McCracken United Methodist members will be selling l/3 lb. hamburgers, chips and homemade cookies during harvest in the late afternoon and evenings. We will be at the shelter house at the park, so keep us in mind. We will also have bottled water.
Rodeo mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11. Everyone is welcome. Father Matthew Kumi will officiate.

Priscilla Jacobs and Tessa Jacobs spent last week end in Wichita where they celebrated Tessas 22 birthday with her brother, Jaden & Jenna Jacobs and family and parents Neal & Amy Jacobs.
Pat Petz spent last weekend with Angie Timson and her family in McPherson. Saturday afternoon was spent touring The Exploration Place in Wichita. Tyler, Drake, and Grant had a great time with all of the hands on stations. During the past week, Drake Timson had participated in the Vacation Bible School. On Sunday all of the participants sang their songs during church. Afterwards, the church ladies provided a very nice luncheon and we got to visit with Jim, Terry, Clayton, and Josh Everhart from McPherson. It was so nice to visit with them! Of course, we had to visit the ducks and swans at the city park and give them some bread! This is always a fun activity not only for the boys but for Grandma Pat as well!
Ron, Cathy and Catherine Casey and Alicia Rues spent the weekend in McCracken visiting with their mother, Arline Rues. Cathy spent a lot of time mowing yards...
Lynnette Doornbos has been named a Kansas Hero of Hope recipient. Lynnette, William Bill Evans from Shawnee, KS and Denise Mohlman, Lakin, KS are three Kansas recipients for 2015. The program is a survivorship initiative involving the selection of unique volunteers from across the American Cancer Society High Plains Division. Congratulations to Lynnette.
Alicia Rues has retired after 39 years of from teaching. She taught two years in general education and 37 years as a special education teacher in the Topeka public schools.

We had 11 teams of 3 golfers each for MCCs 3 person scramble. The course was in great shape. The weather was pleasant and we beat most of the rain.

Womens longest Drive was Sara Corsair. Mens Longest drive was Taylor Stull. Closest to the pin was George Washburn (George donated his prize money back to the course! Thanks George!). Longest putt was Darcy Seib.
A community lunch was served after the tournament. Thanks to everyone who helped with the lunch! It was delicious!
The next tournament is the world famous McCracken Alumni/Rodeo 4 person Texas Scramble! It will be held Saturday, July 11th at 8 AM. This is a 9 hole fun tournament held in conjunction with the McCracken Rodeo and McCracken Alumni weekend.

MHS Baseball team will be playing in the State Baseball tournament for the first time ever in Emporia.
The Mustangs, under Coach Billinger earned the state bid by defeating Victoria 1-0 with Scott Kershner as the winning pitcher.
