On Saturday, June 4th around noon, if you noticed a lot of pickups hauling golf carts heading east on K-4 toward La Crosse from McCracken, you witnessed the half time of the “K-4” golf tournament. We started the tournament in McCracken at 9 AM, played 9 holes at MCC, then loaded up and drove to La Crosse for lunch and the final 9 holes at LCC. The noon drive to La Crosse only claimed one trailer tire and darn near got one golf cart that tried to get loose, but otherwise it was all smiles and good golf! It was also a beautiful day!

We had 18 four person teams play with teams from big cities like Jetmore and Scott City. They all complimented our courses and said they would be back if we did it again next year. The winners were: Championship flight-Pat Baalman, Sean Peters, Jason Showalter, and Butch Harp; 1st flight-Rick Weigel, Nathan Weigel, Tyler Thompson, and Lucien Bradshaw; and 2nd flight, Richard Showalter, Johnny Mac Showalter, Kenneth Foster, and Tony Harp. There were numerous other hole prizes, raffle prizes and 2nd and 3rd place prizes paid out.

This was a fun tournament! Gerald Washburn and his crew at LCC ran a great tournament and it was very successful for both Clubs. If you see Gerald or any of his crew, personally thank them. The members at MCC thank everyone at LCC who helped make this tournament such a success! Let’s do it again!

The next tournament at MCC is Saturday, July 9th at 8 AM. This is the world famous 4 person Rodeo/Alumni Texas scramble, 9 hole tournament, $100 per team. This is the longest, yet most fun 9 holes of golf you will ever play! See you there!
