A 3 person scramble golf tournament was held at the McCracken Country Club on Sunday, May 22nd. Despite the blustery conditions, 33 golfers showed up for the event! This was a great turnout and the Club is grateful to all of those golfers who support it through membership, tournament participation and volunteering. It keeps the course open!

The winners of the tournament were the team of Jeff Werth, Neal Jacobs and Dennis Brungardt. There was a tie for second place between the team of Shawn Peters, Judge Dale Snyder, and Mitch Keeley and the team of Larry Craft, Matt Craft and Les Stecklien. After some heated debate, it was decided that the only appropriate way to break the tie was through a 100 yard chip off. Ignoring the gusty conditions, Judge Snyder volunteered to go first and confidently hit his shot to within 12 inches of the pin! Everyone else on the 2 teams went through the motions of hitting their shots, but it was “game over” with the Peters team taking 2nd place and the Craft team wondering what just happened.

Other big winners on the day were Jason Showalter for longest drive and closest to the pin and Jeff Werth for longest putt. Nice work Jason and Jeff!

Our next tournament is SATURDAY, June 4th. This is the much anticipated “Highway 4” tournament. It is a 4 person scramble at $100 per team. We will play the first 9 holes in McCracken, then head to La Crosse Country Club for lunch and the final 9 holes at LCC. WE HAVE CHANGED THE START TIME FROM 8 AM TO 9 AM. The time on the MCC schedule is wrong! Go by the time shown on the local access channel on TV. We think there will be a good crowd so be ready to tee off at McCracken at 9 AM! See you all there!
