Kayla Weskamp, Nicole Tacha and Shirley Higgins attended graduating ceremonies in Colby at the Community College, Friday afternoon. Linidsey Tacha received her RN degree in nursing.

Weekend guests of Travis, Tina, Katie and Tanner Elias were Dave and Carolyn Davenport, Ty and Quintin Elias, and Freddie, Shelly, Lori, and Traci Turley. On Friday night everyone attended Katie's graduation from Colby Junior College. Dennis and Jeannie Elias joined everyone on Sunday for Tanner's graduation from Colby High School. A graduation party was held afterwards at the City Lights in Colby.

A graduation – retirement get to gather and B-B-Q was held at the home of Tammy Irvin and John Horesky in Russell Saturday afternoon. Lindsey Tacha received her RN degree in nursing, Jerry Higgins retired after 32 years of teaching. Guests attending were Kayla Weskamp, Nicole and Lindsey Tacha; Jerry, Jodi, Tanner and Jenna Higgins; Chuck Higgins, Cameron and Courtney Horesky; Kyra Horesky; Shirley Higgins. Unable to attend were Dominic Weskamp, Zach Higgins and Bryant Reece.

Neal, Amy, Jaden, Jenna Jacobs and family; Priscilla Jacobs, Mitchell and Sandra Jacobs attended graduation ceremonies for Tessa Jacobs at Ft. Hays State University Saturday evening. They stopped at Sonny’s on the way home for a burger and a beer. Tessa will be teaching next year in LaCrosse at the Elementary School - - 4th graders.

Golf News Sunday, May 22nd, 8:30 AM 3 Person Scramble, $75 per team. ***We eliminated the June 12th 4 person scramble and replaced it with a Saturday, June 4th MCC-LaCrosse "K-4" tournament starting at MCC at 8:00 am. We will tee off at MCC at 8 am and play 9 holes. When done, we will drive to LaCrosse Country Club eat lunch then play the final 9 holes. This is a 4 person scramble and cost is $100.00 per team. Saturday, July 9th, 8:00 AM 4 Person Texas Rodeo Scramble, $100 per team. 9 HOLE TOURNAMENT! Sunday, July 31st, 8:30 AM 2 Person Scramble, $50 per team. Sunday, September 11, 8:30 AM 4 Person Scramble, $100 per team. Sunday, October 2nd, 8:30 AM 3 person Scramble, $75 per team.

Lynette Legleiter has enrolled at Brown-Mackie in Salina in court reporting. McCracken Cookie team defeated Ransom 13-12 with Joe Conner the winning pitcher. Yearling steers selling at the livestock market were $37.00 - $40.00. 2nd place winners of the Rush County slo-pitch tournament were State Farm Insurance. Members are Daryl Casey, Dave Davenport, Rod Taylor, Robbie McGaughey, Doug Higgins, John Elmore, Dan Conner, Terry Peters, Richard Showalter, Jim Rein, Dough Whitis and Sponsor, Diz Washaliski. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Petz and Terri, Stillwater and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Petz, Newton has moved to McCracken. Kindergarten students are Donnie Wittman, Brian Walker, Kelly Petz, Kenneth Huntley, Melissa Morgan, David Moran, Lynette Harp, Krista Dome and Bruce Barnes. Chuck Higgins signed a letter of intent to attend Hutchinson Junior College and play baseball. The West Kansas track club hosted a decathlon for boys recently. Shannon McKinney was the winner in the intermediate division. Janice North is employed as activity director of the Long Term Care at the Rush County Hospital. Joy Marie Georg will teach business and Sue Knoebber home economics and girls’ sports at MHS. Clark Wolters will be junior high teacher and coach. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Baus celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Ray Wierman has accepted a job with the Salina Scales Company. 1st and 2nd graders are Malena Rogers, Debbie Gaunt, Scott Wittman, Francis Million, Kaira Miller, Lance McCormick, Penny Schuckman, Trenton Herdman, Melissa Seltman, Victoria Hopkins, Lorrie Gordon, Jason Moran, Tracy Zinn and Tricia Seltman. USD#395 school board gave permission for MHS to form a girls volleyball team and compete with other schools.
