Abie Abraham has written two books, Ghosts of Bataan Speaks in 1971 and Oh, God Where are You in 1997. Sergeant Abie Abraham was a boxing coach for the Armys 31st Infantry in the Philippines in 1941. When the Japanese struck, his battalion was immediately embroiled in one of the most terrible and glorious actions in US history. For months they fought an impossible holding action that indubitably altered the course of the war in the Pacific Theater. These spiritually unbreakable men underwent a grim Death March to prison hell-holes that could have been devised only by Satanic minds. In Oh, God, Where Are You he provides a memorial for the heroes of WWII in the Philippines who fought and died in the war. Abraham was known as the Ghost of Bataan as he remained to disinter the mens graves, some of which were deep in the jungles and mountains. Walton Gilbert, son of Len and Flora Gilbert and an uncle of Clifford Babe Gilbert was mentioned in the book Oh, God Where Are You? Walton died July 7, 1942, in a prisoner of war camp in the Philippines. He was a 1930 graduate of McCracken High School.

She was in the hospital for six days in mid April with aspiration pneumonia which occurs frequently because she has problems with swallowing. She is 101 plus years of age and is now our oldest living alumnus. She remains alert and cheerful, greeting and smiling at those who pass her wheelchair. Time passes though and her memory fades and she is more frail after this last bout of illness. We know she would enjoy cards. You may send them to Nancy Wilson, Hayward Hills Health Care, 1768 B Street, Room 42B, Hayward, CA 94541.

Class prophecy by business teacher Kelly Hart:
Carolyn Oller: This girl was thought of as being somewhat mystic. She always came to class with that dreamy, far-away look in her eye. She seemed preoccupied with outside activities and never once thought about school except the day when she would receive her diploma.
Diana Walker: Diana was never much for studying, never handed her work in on time and when she did, who could decipher all those hieroglyphics?
Ona Ruth Dixon: The moment I see her name I begin hearing her voice, Mr. Hart, my debits and credits wont balance. I am off $6,432.03. Mr. Hart, the q on my typewriter is sticking. Mr. Hart, do I have to hand in this timed writing? I have only three words and 46 errors.
John Hanson, Jr.: Yes, he had been one of my students also and what a student; He was the type that tried and succeeded in diverting the classs attention by asking a question which was in no way remotely related to the subject being discussed.
