The Ladies of St. Mary’s Altar Society appreciates the desserts and salads brought for the dinner by members of the United Methodist Church and other community members for the Laura Linsey funeral dinner on Thursday.  They also appreciate those ladies and gentlemen who helped serve the meal and work after the dinner with the clean up.  It is a joy to know that everyone is willing to help with projects and good works in our community.  We also appreciate Gary Barnes for having a tractor ready for anyone who would slip off the muddy road to St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Blessings to each and everyone.

Monday, April 26th, the Hutchinson News featured an article about the residents at the Rush County Nursing Home having their wishes come true.  Orville Durand was pictured enjoying a beer while he reminisces about his bucket list outing, which took him to his hometown of McCracken to visit family and friends, eat at Boondocks Bar and Grill and see his dog, Pepper.

Laura J. Casey Linsey, 47, was the daughter of Patrick M. and Frances R. (Kisslinger) Casey.  Her family and the community have sustained a great loss.  She was tireless in her efforts to make McCracken better for the children of the community   One of her many accomplishments was the Swimming Pool that benefits all.  Just think of all those funnel cakes she made at the rodeo.  What will we do without her?  Our thoughts and love are with her beloved husband, Russ and his family, and with her brothers and sisters, Daryl, Donald, Jim, Jerry, Kevin, Chris, Karen and Rosie and all their families.  We, her community and friends, are also her family and each mourns in a different way.  Each one of her “kids” from Kids Corner has a special angel in heaven to guide them on their way.  We will have to continue her work, it will be our tribute to her.
