Patricia Petz:

What a busy, exciting, and blessed week!  I don't know how my calendar could get any fuller.  Monday began with a call to sub at the La Crosse High School.  This is such a busy time of the year for the students and teachers.  That evening, I watched the ending of "The Life of Jesus" on the History channel.  This was such an awesome retelling of our Lord.

Tuesday afternoon, mom and I went to Hays to do some Easter shopping. We ate supper and then went to FHSU where we listened to the last of the Encore series for the season.  "JigJam: Live From Ireland" was a four member group that blended the best of traditional Irish music with bluegrass and Americana in a new genre which has been called "CeltGrass".  JigJam players interchanged between banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins, and double bass which created an awesome experience for the audience.

A very nice Ladies Lenton Luncheon was held on Wednesday.  There were a lot of good salads and deserts to choose from.  The entertainment was provided by the La Crosse High School choir and directed by Sally Jacobs.  Matthew Frick also played a beautiful piece on his saxophone.  It was a delightful day to visit with friends and to be able to share time with my mom, Aunt Rita Liggett, and my sister-in-law, Vicky Foos.

After the luncheon, I needed to take care of many business items and then I stopped by to visit with Maurice and Debbie Haas.  They invited mom and I to eat supper with them. Maurice had prepared a delicious roast with all of the trimmings. Later that evening, I spent time with members of the Parish Council at our monthly meeting.  Many upcoming events were discussed.

The Elementary School needed a sub for PE on Thursday so I helped fill in for the day.  Since this was the last day before Easter break, a track meet at the High School, an Easter Egg Hunt at the Long Term Care Center, and Easter parties in the afternoon, the students were super excited!

Holy Thursday mass was an enjoyable mass.  Many members who attended the Chrism Mass at Dodge City helped present the new blessed oils that will be used through out the year.  We also had the washing of the feet by Father Eric.  This was a truly blessed event for all who attended.

Saturday was a fun-filled day at De.Wayne and Vicky Foos's home.  They hosted the Easter get-together for the Foos family.  Those in attendance were: Jendee, Gratton and Rennick Dalton, Mary Steitz, Trent, Angie, Drake, Grant, and Tyler Timson and his girlfriend, Katelyn Beam, Kelly, Melanie, Nicholas, Kallynn, and Kameron Petz, and Nathan and Easton Windholz, and me.  We had delicious food, lots of visiting, flying kites, softball games, and Easter egg hunting throughout the day.

Later that evening, the Timson's and I went to Ellis to visit with Grandma Dolores and to wish her a Happy Easter.  She was looking well and we had a great visit.

Easter Sunday began at St. Michael's while the church was filled with many family and friends participating in mass.  After mass, the Timsons and I went to Grandma Mary's and had lunch that I had prepared, before the Timsons had to head back to McPherson.  All in all, I couldn't have asked for a nicer week.  I feel very blessed!
