McCracken Sports History
1934
The Hoisington Boosters came here Sunday carrying the betting odds but finally lost in the ninth inning by a score of 6 to 5. Oscar Engle pitched the game for McCracken and kept the Hoisington hits well scattered. Dean Irvin made the outstanding play of the game when he raced into left field to snag a Texas leaguer. Frank McGaughey was the hitting hero like you read of in the story books. With two runs needed to win in the last half of the ninth and two strikes on the batter, Frank drove out a two-base hit to send in the two winning runs.
