Graveside services for Pete Rixon will be held Monday April 1 beginning at 10:30 at the McCracken City Cemetery.
Tony and Tomi Rues and kids went to Chicago over spring break. They met Tim Rues and his daughter, Maddie, in Topeka and took the Amtrak train. While in Chicago they took in the sights by visiting the Shedd Aquarium, Willis (Sears) Tower, The Field Museum, and The Chicago Art Institute. They also saw the Chicago River turn green! The girls were able to get some shopping in, and a great time was had by all.
Melanie Zeller took her mother Ruth Axman and Julia Zeller to Hays for lunch and then shopping for her mother a dress . . they had good luck!
Hutchinson High School football Coach Randy Dreiling nominated Tanner Higgins for the 20th annual Scholar Athlete of the Sunflower Chapter of National Football foundation and College Hall of fame - primary function to honor outstanding High School athletes completing their senior year that have excelled on the football field as well as excelling in the class room and is a leader in the community. The Sunflower chapter is located in Lawrence, Kansas.
Donna Jay was a guest of Melanie and John Zeller last week from Monday - Wednesday.
Addie Kershner spent her spring break in California touring Disney Land and other places of interest with Jolene Morgan, Taylor and Hunter and her parents Larry and Joe Reis, Ness City. They traveled by Amtrak train to Anaheim.
Chet Irvin spent all last week with his grandparents, Don and Dena Irvin for spring break. Friday afternoon Dena, Chet and Shirley motored to Cedar Bluff to see if there was any water left in the dam. Not much!!
Audrey Irvin spent spring break snow skiing in South Dakota with her friend, Kaylor.
Dena spent the weekend in Scott City with Chris and Jana, Crissa, Cooper and Jaisa. She left Friday night and returned Sunday afternoon.

Here is the information regarding the Diehl family. Mr. Diehl ran a shoe repair shop by the cleaners. They were in McCracken in 1946. They lived in the Alex Graf house (later King Mason and now Emily and Scott Keener's). They had two children David and Annetta. They were related to the Schlitters. Our thanks to Twila Higgins for this information.
Mike, Susan and Shannon Keith and Carolyn Thompson returned from a trip to Florida for Spring Break. They enjoyed seeing the Cardinals play Detroit, the Mets and the Marlins in Jupiter, then travelled down the Keys to Key West.
