The Postal Service will hold a meeting on 03/05/2013, 1:00 PM at the Mc Cracken Community Center, 402 1st Street to answer questions and provide additional information about POST Plan. At the meeting, local management will share the results of the survey and answer questions. Although survey results will be known and shared, the Postal Service will not make a final decision regarding Mc Cracken Post Office until after the public meeting. This will enable the Postal Service to obtain all community input and opinions, from both the surveys and the meeting before making a final decision. Surveys were sent to customers within the delivery zip code(s) of this Post Office and the Post Office Box customers. If you did not receive a survey and would like to fill one out, surveys are available at the Post office.

Our sympathy to the family of Norma K. Bisagno, 87, of Augusta, who died February 18, 2013 at LakePoint Assisted Living in Augusta. Services were held, February 22 at Augusta First United Methodist Church with burial in Elwood Cemetery in Augusta. Norma was born in McCracken, Kansas, on September 13, 1925 to Glenn and Ruby (Elmore) Ryan. She graduated from McCracken High School in 1943. She attended Stephens College and Kansas State University. She was a member of the Jonathan Gilbert Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution of LaCrosse and Eastern Star. She was a member of many organizations in Augusta. She married Robert D. Bisagno of Augusta on April 3, 1947. They were married 51 years until his death in 1998. She is survived by her daughter Kay Bleakley, Mission Hills and son David Bisagno of Augusta; four grandchildren, Matthew Bleakley, Erin Bleakley, Alyssa and Bobby Bisagno, sister-in-law, June Parry, five nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Elmore Ryan and a sister, Joan Ryan Buster. Memorials are to the First United Methodist Church in Augusta, the McCracken United Methodist Church of McCracken, Augusta Historic Theatre and Augusta Public Library.

Danny and Marilyn Mills were last Saturday visitors of Addie Mills. They brought ice cream and cake in honor of Addie's birthday. Marty had to work that day. He and Tina came on Sunday with birthday cake for Mom.

Our sympathy to the family of Skyler Allen Jones, 22, who died near McCracken on February 17, 2013. He was born June 11, 1990 in Hays to Richard and Rose Rolo Jones. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 2008 and was a cook at Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom. He also worked also at Boondocks. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lynn Hecker-Jones, his parents, Richard and Rose Jones, sister Sierra Jones, grandparents, John and Ann Chandley, grandmother, Donna Rolo. Burial was in the McCracken City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Jessica Lynn Hecker-Jones Education Fund. A tribute from a friend about Skyler: Skyler was a passionist cook. He hoped one day to be a chef. Everyone would love to know his receipe for green beans. He adored his daughter, she is the image of him at that age. Skyler was loyal to his friends. He was a polite, quiet young man.

We would like to thank the Good Samaritans that live around McCracken for cleaning out driveways, shoveling walks, grading snow to get to cattle, feeding cattle when wench is broke etc. All is very much appreciated.

Walter and Janey Rogers returned home from Kansas City on Tuesday just before our snow storm. They visited with Pete and Terri Cox in Lone Jack, Missouri and Pat and Betty Keener in Lenexa.

Pizza Night on Friday, March 1st. We will be serving pizza, drinks and desserts. There will be cheese pizza for those observing lent. We will start serving at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Building. Free will donation with proceeds going to Relay for Life, McCracken Mustangs team.

Minnie Elias Wagner, 92, died January 15 in Riverside, California.
Oscar Pete Rogers, 64, died January 23.
A Dance was held at the Silver Star, Schoenchen, and Music was by the Brighton Polka Pals.
Reva and Carla Rodeman received their degrees from Ft. Hays State College.
John Stull received his degree at Ft. Hays and accepted a position as chemist with a firm at Tulsa.
Roy Conrad received his discharge from the US Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and began work on the Missouri Pacific RR.
Norman Anderson is a student at Kansas State University.
